Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the answers to the questions we have been asked over the years.

How much does a website cost?

The cost of a website can vary depending on various factors, which is why we go through the Discover Process so that we know exactly what you need and can price accordingly. To give you a rough idea our website projects generally start in the £2,000 range for basic business sites and range upward depending on your unique needs.

How long does it take to design and build a website?

Again that depends on the size and complexity of your project and the quality of the content you already have to hand. A basic website typically takes around 4 weeks from beginning to end.

Do you only build WordPress sites?

In short, yes.
WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS) out there and it offers so much flexibility, in our opinion it would be illogical not to utilise it in your business.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is your address on the internet. This may be something like www.yourbusinessname.co.uk.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is a service that allows your website to be viewed on the Internet. It’s basically a computer housed in a data centre that runs your website and email.

Do you setup my domain name and web hosting?

We will help you get your domain name and web hosting arranged but we are not a hosting company and in our opinion it is good business practise for you to take ownership of your domain name.

What is a Content Management System?

A Content Management System (CMS)  is a tool that allows you to maintain the pages of your website yourself, without the need for any technical skills. As long as you have a web browser and internet connection you can edit and add pages, images, products or blog entries to your website.

Will you train me how to use my site?

Yes we provide all our clients with training on maintaining their website.

What about social media and email marketing?

As part of our design services we will help you with these elements, ensuring the relevant tools are seamlessly integrated into your site to help you manage this going forward.

I keep hearing about SEO, what is it?

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is all about how your site ranks in search engines such as Google. The higher up you are in the search results the more traffic/customers you are likely to get.

There are many aspects that go into achieving good SEO, and one of the most important is the copy (words) on your website. Focus on well written, keyword rich and appropriate content is the key.

Do you design logos?

No. We focus on what we know we can do well – building effective websites. However we would be happy to put you in contact with some graphic designers who can help you with this.

Will you write my content?

Sadly we are not copywriters, but we can recommend a few who can help you write effective and converting copy. Just let us know if this is a service you require.
